Information and Collaboration Portal for Stiftung Attl
Stiftung Attl is an institution for people with disabilities in Attel near Wasserburg am Inn. In total, the institution has more than 1000 employees and about 1200 care places. The foundation supports people with disabilities in being able to shape their lives according to their own wishes. A wide range of accompanying services in all areas and phases of life is organised for the persons cared for – irrespective of gender, age and severity of the disability.
The availability of required information without protracted searching on the part of employees. Stiftung Attl set itself the primary goal of replacing its outdated Intranet Portal. A contemporary Intranet and the possibility of collaboration in team and project rooms should offer the employees a modern working environment. At the Halvotec information days and subsequent discussions with the managing director, the individual intranet solution from Halvotec was convincing. The special feature was to make the portal accessible not only to the employees but also to selected areas such as the news portal and the cafeteria plan for the supervised persons, employees and residents even without registration.
SharePoint was able to optimally cover the requirements of an information and collaboration portal that is geared to the future. At the start of the project, Halvotec had many apps as finished developments in its portfolio whereby these functions could have been implemented quickly into the Intranet. Due to the combined access, the use of the portal was possible for employees and participants without registration. Thanks to this option the number of required user accounts was kept to a minimum, which had a positive effect on licensing costs. In order to pick up all employees, the intranet was demonstrated in advance in the works meetings and later on application courses were offered for the use of the many functions. For the future the foundation plans to introduce video tutorials on how to use the portal correctly and efficiently. This should not only increase the acceptance of the new intranet but also exploit the potential of the team and project rooms for better cooperation.
Due to the size of the institution, the amount of information is correspondingly high. The basic goal of guiding the user to the required content without a long search was successfully achieved. By using filter functions in the portal, an efficient solution could be created to qucikly make the desired information tangible. With the digital provision of messages and events, not only the e-mail traffic could be greatly reduced and thus the mailbox could be relieved. The implemented collaboration environment also promotes and facilitates modern collaboration in digital team and project rooms.
„The employees are increasingly accepting the possibility of effective collaboration in the virtual rooms – this is where we clearly see the system’s strength.“
Michael Wagner, Head of Corporate Communications at Stiftung Attl
